Fulfil new EU regulations with IST Color Sorter
New EU Limits
Effective from 01.07.2024 the EU regulation for the maximum permitted levels of Ergots in rye, barley, wheat, spelt and oat is reduced with 50% to 0,2 g/kg for barley and 50 µg / kg for rye, wheat, spelt and oat.
Removal of Ergots
Ergots can be difficult to remove by mechanical cleaning when the ergots or ergot fragments have same width and length as the grain. However, ergots have a different color than the grain and are thus easily removed by the IST color sorter. So, by adding a IST color sorter to your cleaning line you get the best solution to fulfil the changes in the EU legislation.
